It is a true Renaissance architectural masterpiece initially constructed as a hunting lodge for King Francis I. This extraordinary château boasts over 600 carvings of his sigil, the salamader. Its iconic double-helix staircases make for the perfect photo.

Amboise was the perfect base for our adventures exploring stunning chateaus. We arrived at sunset and enjoyed a delightful dinner by the water, featuring a poppy seed-crusted pork tenderloin with creamy spinach. Our hotel room offered a charming view of a quaint alley and the chateau's turret.
